More students enrolled in Rappahannock County's only school district in 2023-24 school year

The only school district in Rappahannock County had rising enrollment in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

There were 774 students in Rappahannock County Public Schools District, 5.2% more than the year before.

Enrollment in Rappahannock County bucked the state's trend of decreasing enrollment.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 51.9% of them were male, and 48.1% were female.

Data also showed that most of the studets were white, representing 82% of Rappahannock County Public Schools District's total enrollment.

Rappahannock County Public Schools District has a main office in Washington and is the only school district within Rappahannock County.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
