Inova Cares Clinic for Women – Lansdowne Renaming Celebration
After nearly 15 years of providing OB/GYN care to women in Loudoun County who are uninsured, have limited resources or are insured by Medicaid, Inova is proud to unveil the new name of the clinic and highlight the expansion of services: Inova Cares Clinic for Women – Lansdowne (previously named Inova OB/GYN Clinic at Loudoun Hospital).
Established through a partnership between Inova Loudoun Hospital, Loudoun County Health Department and HealthWorks of Northern Virginia in 2008, the Inova Cares Clinic for Women – Lansdowne works to ensure all women in the Loudoun community receive excellent prenatal care, improve birth outcomes and decrease NICU stays. Recent service expansion includes GYN services for all patients including those referred from the Emergency Room as well as family planning, and in the near future, colposcopies and well- woman services.
“We are proud to offer these services to our culturally diverse community, regardless of their ability to pay or immigration status,” commented Susan Carroll, President, Inova Loudoun Hospital. “Since 2008, our team of board-certified OB/GYN physicians and midwives have successfully delivered 8,387 babies.”
“The Health Department prioritizes healthy women having healthy babies. Until 2008, uninsured women and those with Medicaid did not have access to the same quality of prenatal care as other Loudoun County residents,” commented Dr. David Goodfriend, Director, Loudoun County Health Department. “Together as healthcare providers, today we celebrate the expansion of women’s services, improving outcomes for mothers and newborns to give them a healthy start which can only benefit our community.”
“The goal is to reduce inequities in women’s health,” observed Dr. Steve J. Motew, MHA, FACS, Executive Vice President, Chief, Clinical Enterprise, Inova Health System. “Our fundamental purpose is to improve our outreach and care, thereby improving the health of our patients including women, which enhances their lives and the lives of their families.”
