IFDA Statement on the Confirmation of Robin Hutcheson as Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier
Mark S. Allen, President and CEO of the International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA), congratulates Robin Hutcheson on her confirmation as Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
“We congratulate Administrator Hutcheson on her confirmation and look forward to continuing to work with her on today’s most pressing trucking and supply chain issues, most critically a shortage of professional drivers,” said Allen. “With 70% of American freight traveling via trucks, the inability to meet the demand for commercial truck drivers hampers our supply chain and will only further exacerbate record-high inflation. Foodservice distributors applaud FMCSA’s launch of a pilot program to explore a pathway for younger CDL holders to receive rigorous training and safely operate across state lines, enabling them to pursue well-paying careers in the trucking industry and helping to build a highly-skilled transportation workforce of the future.”
