Inova Loudoun Hospital issued the following announcement on Nov. 3

Inova Loudoun Hospital (ILH) has been recertified as an accredited Spine Center of Excellence by The Joint Commission. ILH has been a Spine Center of Excellence for the past five years, placing it among a select group of hospitals nationwide to achieve excellence in spine care. The Joint Commission is a credentialing body that evaluates healthcare organizations on the safe and effective delivery of patient care. Designation is based on compliance with consensus-based national standards and the effective use of evidence-based clinical practice.

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and medical consensus to help healthcare organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews. ILH has worked rigorously to achieve and maintain the designation of a Spine Center of Excellence.

“At Inova Loudoun Hospital, we provide complete spine care including pain management, rehabilitation and orthopedic and neurosurgical surgical expertise including the latest advancements in technology and minimally invasive surgical options for patients,” said Ali Moshirfar, MD, Medical Director, Inova Spine Program, and Medical Staff President, ILH. “This accreditation assures our patients that Inova’s Spine Program provides the best and safest care to the community we serve.”
