The Loudoun Chamber will co-host the 6th Annual Northern Virginia Regional Elected Leaders Summit with premier partner, the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce, and co-hosts, Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, Prince William Chamber of Commerce, and Northern Virginia Regional Commission.
This event will take place at George Mason University's Van Metre Hall with a virtual simulcast option for attendees through the Zoom platform. The event offers Northern Virginia's business leaders the opportunity to learn about the economic climate in the region, hear about new and ongoing initiatives aimed at bolstering economic growth, and discover how the jurisdictions in Northern Virginia can work together for the betterment of our regional economy, particularly during recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Local leaders will discuss issues including the region's workforce, housing, and transportation network.
"Regional collaboration across the public and private sectors continues to be of utmost importance as we move into pandemic recovery," said Kate Bates, President & CEO of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce. "This summit will allow Northern Virginians to understand how the region is working together to support our communities. I am grateful for the strong partnerships among the chambers of commerce in the region, and our elected leaders."
“Working closely with our local elected leaders helps us ensure a high quality business climate here in Northern Virginia,” said Julie Coons, President & CEO of the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce. “I am excited to hear what is in store for Northern Virginia, what our leaders have learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, and how our region can remain the best in which to do business.”
“We’re looking forward to joining our neighbor chambers once again for this important conversation on the challenges and exciting opportunities facing our region.” said Joe Haggerty, President & CEO of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce.
“Collaboration and regional problem solving are needed now more than ever to address Northern Virginia’s workforce, housing attainability, and transportation challenges,” said Tony Howard, President & CEO of the Loudoun Chamber. “This event will provide an opportunity for our region’s elected officials and business leadership to connect and proactively seek holistic solutions.
“In this ever changing environment, it is important now more than ever to hear from our regional leaders," Debbie Jones, President & CEO, Prince William Chamber of Commerce. "We greatly appreciate the opportunity to present access to these regional leaders while partnering with our fellow chambers."
The event will feature elected officials from across the area, including Arlington County Board Vice Chair Katie Cristol, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chair Jeff McKay, Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Chair Phyllis Randall, Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chair Ann Wheeler, and City of Alexandria Mayor Justin Wilson.
