FAUQUIER COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: Detective Andrew McCauley was recognized as the 2020 Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9835 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year

Fauquier County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on Feb. 26.

Nominated by his peers and with the approval of Sheriff Mosier,  Detective Andrew McCauley was recognized as the 2020 Veterans of Foreign  Wars Post 9835 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Detective McCauley  demonstrates a powerful work ethic with a tenacious investigative style  and attention to detail. Detective McCauley was nominated for the VFW  Award for his hard work on a case involving several larcenies from  vehicles and a stolen vehicle, which was recovered. 

 Detective McCauley  was able to locate the suspect involved with these crimes and charged  the person with 19 offenses including credit card theft, credit card  fraud, grand larceny, petit larceny, and entering a vehicle without  consent. Congratulations on receiving this award.  

 The VFW Post 9835 also donated a check in the amount of $500.00 dollars  toward our Explorer Post 1077. This was very thoughtful and greatly  appreciated.
