Fauquier County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on Jan. 22.
The Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office provides an initiative focused on solving and preventing crimes. The Security Camera Registration Program is aimed at collecting locations of security cameras, whether commercial or residential, to be used as a time saving, investigative tool when incidents occur. This is a great way for business owners and citizens to partner with Fauquier County law enforcement to play a proactive role in community policing.
Community partnerships are a critical component to solving crimes. Surveillance footage can be instrumental in identifying and locating offenders. By partnering with Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office to register your security cameras, law enforcement can expand their eyes and ears throughout the County and streamline neighborhood canvasses should an incident arise.
