Michael Webert, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, posted several tweets in August 2025 addressing public safety, education policy, and concerns about unfunded mandates.

On August 9, 2025, Webert commented on Jay Jones’ approach to public safety. He wrote, “Interesting how Jay Jones is shifting from fight trump to public safety….. and says he knows about keeping communities safe…. While voting to let violent criminals out early. And highlights a commonwealth’s attorney whose criminal over victims mentality lead to a man whose”.

Later that day, Webert discussed Democratic education policies. In his tweet from August 9, 2025, he stated, “I find it’s more important to look at what Democrats don’t say….. (after they kept schools closed causing learning loss) we have increased funding to k-12 education exponentially over the last 4yrs. And not all kids learn the same so having $ follow the kids makes sense.”

On August 11, 2025, Webert raised concerns about local government funding in response to policy proposals. He tweeted, “How are you going to do this without unfunded mandates on cash strapped localities?”

Michael Webert has represented Virginia’s 18th district since 2012. His social media posts often focus on state policy issues such as criminal justice reform and education funding.
