The Longwood Lancers, featuring former Briar Woods High School standout Max Lawson, posted a 9-3 victory in their NCAA Division I baseball contest versus the Youngstown State Penguins at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28.

Buddy Bolding Stadium served as the site for the teams’ second meeting of the season. In their earlier game on Friday, Feb. 27, the Lancers fell 2-1 to Youngstown State.

Lawson contributed one hit in one at-bat, collected two runs, drove in one run, and walked twice.

The Lancers are set to face Youngstown State again at Buddy Bolding Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 28, with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m.
