The Maryland Terrapins earned a 6-4 win over the USC Trojans in Saturday’s NCAA Division I baseball matchup on March 28, with former Independence High School star David Mendez playing for Maryland.

The contest was held at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium, marking the teams’ second meeting this season. On Friday, March 27, the Terrapins had narrowly lost to the Trojans 11-10.

Mendez posted two hits in four at-bats, tallying one run and a strikeout.

Maryland is set to take on the Trojans again at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium in their next game, scheduled for Sunday, March 29.
