Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels, featuring former Fauquier High School standout Aliana Vanegas Hawkins, earned a 12-9 win over the Notre Dame Maryland Gators in their NCAA Division III softball contest held Thursday, March 12, at 4 p.m.
The teams met at Weinberg-Fine Stadium, marking their second contest against one another this season. The Fighting Squirrels dropped the previous game to the Gators, 10-5, on Thursday, March 12.
Vanegas Hawkins finished with three hits on five at-bats, scoring one run, collecting two RBIs, and striking out once.
Mary Baldwin’s next matchup is set for Sunday, March 15, at 1 p.m. at Bridgewater Softball Field, where they will face the Bridgewater Eagles.
