In the week ending Jan. 3, one gas station in Fauquier County sold E15 gas at the lowest reported price of $2.39 per gallon, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
The county registered an average of $2.49 per gallon for E15 gas.
Among 36 gas stations in cities within Fauquier County, two offered E15 gas.
The average reported price for a gallon of E15 gas in Virginia was $2.40, down from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration expects global oil stockpiles to keep growing into 2026, a trend that could weigh on crude prices in the near term.
