The Loudoun County Hypothermia Prevention Shelter is set to open on November 15, 2025, providing temporary overnight shelter for single adults aged 18 and older who are experiencing homelessness. The shelter will operate nightly from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. through March 31, 2026.
Individuals seeking shelter must first check in at the Loudoun Homeless Services Center located at 19520 Meadowview Court in Leesburg. After check-in and dinner service, guests will be directed to the Hypothermia Prevention Shelter at 16450 Meadowview Court, which is situated just past the Homeless Services Center.
To ensure safety and security, guests are required to store personal belongings—aside from essential items—in secure onsite storage. The county’s firearms ordinance prohibits firearms and ammunition within all county facilities.
Daytime drop-in services are available at two locations. Both centers offer meals, laundry, showers, and information about resources such as food assistance, clothing, medical care, mental health services, public benefits, ID procurement, and employment opportunities:
– Eastern Loudoun Drop-In Center at 21641 Ridgetop Circle, Suite 111 in Sterling operates Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
– Loudoun Homeless Services Center at 19520 Meadowview Court in Leesburg is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
