The Loudoun County government is currently holding an online surplus auction, offering a range of items such as children’s wooden lockers, a RIDGID table saw, and a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 heavy duty truck. Other available items include an air compressor, pressure washer, bicycles, pickleball nets, Halloween costumes for children, office furniture, computers, printers, and more. The auction will end at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Detailed information and photographs of the items are available online. Loudoun County uses Public Surplus to conduct these sales. Public Surplus is an online platform designed for public agencies. To participate in the bidding process, individuals must register at publicsurplus.com. Registration is free; however, all purchases are subject to a 9.75% buyer’s premium. According to the auction terms and conditions posted on the Public Surplus site, Loudoun County government employees face certain restrictions when bidding.
Purchased items can be picked up by appointment at 14 Cardinal Park Drive, Suite 106 in Leesburg during designated hours: either from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., or from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The specific pickup dates for each item are listed on the county’s auction website.
The county states that this surplus auction “helps keep items out of the Loudoun County landfill by repurposing them.”
