The Loudoun County government is currently holding an online surplus auction, offering a range of items such as vehicles, exercise equipment, and stacking chairs. Notable items up for bid include a 2014 Chevrolet Express 14-passenger bus, a Matrix pec fly/rear delt exercise machine, a Matrix rowing machine, and stacking chairs suitable for both adults and children. Additional items available in the auction are books, file cabinets, office furniture, computers, printers, and other miscellaneous goods. The auction will end at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Detailed information and photographs of the items can be found online.

The county conducts these sales through Public Surplus, an online platform designed for public agencies. Those interested in participating must register at publicsurplus.com; registration is free but all purchases carry a 9.75% buyer’s premium. According to the county’s terms and conditions posted on the Public Surplus site, Loudoun County government employees face certain restrictions when bidding.

Purchased items must be picked up by appointment at 14 Cardinal Park Drive, Suite 106 in Leesburg during designated hours from 9:00 a.m. to noon or from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with specific pickup dates listed on each auction item’s page.

According to the county government: “The Loudoun County surplus auction helps keep items out of the Loudoun County landfill by repurposing them.”

More details about the sale of surplus government property are available at loudoun.gov/surplus.
