The Loudoun County Department of Housing and Community Development will offer a series of free online educational sessions from January through March 2026 to inform the public about fair housing law. The initiative aims to help renters, buyers, financial advisers, realtors, property managers, and builders understand protections against discrimination.

The sessions will be held virtually on Wednesdays from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., with opportunities for participants to ask questions. The schedule includes three topics:

On January 14, 2026, the session “The Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.’s Impact on Fair Housing Law” will discuss how King’s vision influenced current laws ensuring equal access to housing regardless of race, color, national origin or religion. It will also address housing’s role in equity and economic stability.

On February 18, 2026, “Healthy Homes, Healthy Hearts – Fair Housing & Nutritional Health” will focus on legal protections for individuals with disabilities related to nutrition and heart health.

On March 18, 2026, during National Women’s History Month, “Access & Equity to Fair Housing” will highlight the addition of sex as a protected class in 1974 and its effect on preventing gender discrimination in housing.

Attendance is free and no registration is required. More information about these sessions can be found at loudoun.gov/FairHousing.
