Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) announced that the division of family and community engagement held its first interfaith luncheon on November 13, 2025, at the LCPS administration building in Ashburn. The event aimed to bring together community members and staff.
According to LCPS, the Interfaith Luncheon, themed “United in Service,” gathered over 120 faith leaders, school staff, and community partners. The purpose was to recognize the contributions of faith-based organizations in supporting students and families. Superintendent Dr. Aaron Spence highlighted how these partnerships advance the division’s strategic goals of access, community, and well-being. Attendees shared stories of impact, watched a video on collaborative efforts between local churches and LCPS liaisons, and participated in discussions to explore ways to expand support in 2026. They also received World Kindness Day gifts as a symbol of their shared commitment to fostering a caring, connected community.
“Education thrives when the broader community walks alongside our schools,” said Renée Dawson, director of Family and Community Engagement. “Our faith partners are often the unsung heroes whose generosity and compassion make a lasting difference in the lives of students, staff and families. Their continued partnership strengthens our schools and builds a foundation of belonging and care that extends throughout our community.”
The Division of Family and Community Engagement (FACE) works to strengthen partnerships between families, schools, and community organizations. FACE provides outreach services such as events, educational programs, volunteer opportunities, school-based supports, and collaborations with local businesses, faith groups, and community partners to support student learning and success. The division emphasizes inclusive practices like multilingual communication to ensure all families are engaged.
