Geary Higgins, a Republican member of the Virginia State House representing the 30th district since 2024, has recently commented on energy policy and legislative developments through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On January 25, 2026, Higgins expressed optimism regarding an unspecified issue by stating, “There is hope to stop this power grab…” Later that day, he tempered expectations with another post: “Don’t hold your breath…” In a subsequent tweet on the same date, Higgins weighed in on the reliability of renewable energy sources for meeting base load power requirements. He wrote, “Absolutely correct! Renewables are fine to boost power supply when the conditions are right, but they cannot be relied on for our base load power needs. @MichaelWebert”

Higgins was elected to his seat in the Virginia State House in 2024 after succeeding Nick Freitas as representative for the state’s 30th House district.
