Geary Higgins, a Republican elected to the Virginia State House in 2024 representing the 30th district, has posted several criticisms of Democratic policies and actions on his social media account.

On February 7, 2026, Higgins wrote: “This is exactly what Democrats will do nationwide if they gain full control: campaign as moderates promising affordability, then slam through tax hikes on everyday life, gun grabs, soft-on-crime policies, sanctuary protections, and rigged maps.”

Later that day, he questioned Democratic motives in another post: “What is it with these Dems and their obsession with power?” He followed this statement by adding “Good question…”

In a third tweet posted on the same date, Higgins criticized legislative maneuvering: “Their own law – that they passed – is in the way – so what to do? Just suspend it buried in a budget amendment.”

Higgins assumed office after winning election to Virginia’s 30th House district in 2024. He succeeded Nick Freitas as state representative. The tweets reflect ongoing partisan debates within Virginia politics over issues such as taxation, criminal justice policy, and legislative procedures.
