Geary Higgins, a Republican elected to the Virginia State House in 2024 representing the state’s 30th House district, used his social media account to comment on recent political debates regarding car tax policy and affordability measures in Virginia.

On January 16, 2026, Higgins addressed the issue of car taxes, referencing actions taken by Governor Youngkin and state Republicans. He stated: “This is all great except @GovernorVA Governor Youngkin and the Republicans offered a pathway to eliminate the car tax during his term and the Dems said no. So, the Dems took your money and want to look at it now, because…?”

Later that day, Higgins posted another message concerning affordability in Virginia. On January 16, he wrote: “Ah yes! More affordability…”

He reiterated this sentiment three days later. On January 19, 2026, Higgins posted: “More affordability…”

Higgins succeeded Nick Freitas as representative for Virginia’s 30th House district after winning election in 2024.
