Freedom High School graduate Luke Baker and his current college team, the Christopher Newport Captains, secured a 6-5 victory over the Messiah Falcons in their NCAA Division III baseball game held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Captains Park was the site for this contest, marking the teams’ second meeting this season. The previous game, played Friday, Feb. 27, ended in a 6-2 Captains loss.
Baker contributed 0.2 innings on the mound, posting one walk and one strikeout.
The Captains are set to take on the Messiah Falcons again at Captains Park on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 2:30 p.m.
