FOIA Request to Loudoun County Treasurer Regarding Property Tax Records 2024 – Present on May 12, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at West Nova News have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Loudoun County Treasurer. The request seeks access to property tax records for properties within the county for the year 2024 and any available data for 2025. Specifically, we are requesting details including Parcel ID, Year, Tax Value, and Assessed Value.

This request is made under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, §2.2-3704 et seq., with a preference for receiving the information in electronic format. As members of the media dedicated to providing comprehensive news coverage, we emphasize that access to public records is crucial for holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency for our audience.

In support of this endeavor, we are also affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization that aids media companies and advocacy groups in investigating governmental agencies through FOIA and Sunshine Laws. This collaboration underscores our dedication to informing the American electorate by revealing governmental actions.

We have requested a fee waiver based on our role as media professionals involved in disseminating information to the public. We await a response from the Loudoun County Treasurer’s office and remain committed to updating our readers on any developments regarding this request.
