On Thursday, April 17, former Independence High School standout David Mendez’s current college team, the Vanderbilt Commodores, won 3-1 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Georgia Bulldogs.

The game took place at Hawkins Field. This was their first matchup against the Bulldogs this season.

The Commodores’ next game is scheduled for Friday, April 18 at 6 p.m. at Hawkins Field against Georgia Bulldogs.
