Former Freedom High School standout Ryan Morrison helped the Christopher Newport Captains secure a 6-5 victory over the Messiah Falcons in their NCAA Division III baseball matchup at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28.
The teams met at Captains Park for the contest, marking their second meeting of the season. In the earlier game played Friday, Feb. 27, the Captains were defeated 6-2 by Messiah.
Morrison pitched five innings, allowing five earned runs while walking two batters and striking out two.
The Captains will face the Messiah Falcons again Saturday, Feb. 28, at 2:30 p.m. at Captains Park.
