Castleton Spartans defeat Union Garnet Chargers 11-7 with contribution from former Stone Bridge standout

On Wednesday, March 11, at 3:30 p.m., Luke Russell, a former standout from Stone Bridge High School, helped his college team, the Castleton Spartans, secure an 11-7 victory over the Union Garnet Chargers in their NCAA Division III baseball contest.

Central Park ‘A’ Diamond hosted this season’s first meeting between the two teams.

Russell gave up three earned runs in one inning, registering one walk and one strikeout.

The Spartans are set to play next at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at Robison Field at Karl Steffen Ballpark, where they will face the RPI Engineers.
