Former Independence High School standout Carter Schuster took the field with his current college team, the Wingate Bulldogs, on Saturday, March 7, at 1 p.m. The Bulldogs secured a 10-8 victory over the UVA Wise Cavaliers in their NCAA Division II baseball matchup.
Burchell Stallard Baseball Field served as the venue for the contest, marking the teams’ second meeting this season. The Bulldogs previously defeated the Cavaliers 10-6 on Friday, March 6.
Schuster allowed two earned runs during the game and issued one walk.
The Bulldogs are set to play their next game at Burchell Stallard Baseball Field against the UVA Wise Cavaliers at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 7.
